The Garden Girls of GVH,
Arrived one morning, bright and gay,
Armed with trowels, gloves and spades,
And grand ideas for floral parades.
“We’ll make this border quite the sight!”
Declared the team with pure delight.
Though some dug straight and some dug wonky,
And one hole looked fit for a donkey!
There was chatting, laughing, tea on tap,
And frequent breaks for a little yap.
A weed or two put up a fight,
But stood no chance by lunchtime light.
Plants went in with loving care,
Though not all ended where they’d planned, to be fair.
A shuffle here, a move back there,
Gardening’s art, not science, they swear!
Now outside GVH you’ll see,
A border blooming beautifully.
A splash of colour, a touch of class,
And only a few plants planted in grass!
So if you pass, give a wave and grin,
To the Garden Girls who pitched right in.
They’ve made the hall look rather grand—
With muddy boots and soil-stained hands! 🌼🌿🌸
