Sound Bath

Woman running a sound bath in the Hall

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing experience where you are invited to lie down, get comfortable and allow yourself to be immersed in a beautiful combination of sound and vibration.

During the session, Kate uses instruments such as crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, chimes and other soothing sounds. The sounds and vibrations wash over you, encouraging the mind and body to slow down and relax.

You don’t need any previous experience, and there is nothing you need to do — simply get comfortable, breathe naturally and listen.

It’s an opportunity to press pause, take some time for yourself and leave feeling peaceful, grounded and refreshed.

Volunteering

As much or as little involvement as you like!

Maintenance

Two men slotting a fence panel in between two concrete posts.

Sunday mornings are maintenance mornings! Painting, repairs, tidying and practical improvements.

Sunday mornings have also become a social event in their own right. There is always coffee, usually made by our resident “hobby barista”, and others bring biscuits, homemade cakes and plenty of good humour. We work hard, but we also stop, talk, laugh and enjoy each other’s company.

Gardening

Two women standing with plants ready to be planted in the flowerbed at the front of GVH.

Green fingers welcome!

Join our band of volunteers who plant, weed, trim hedges, and maintain our landscaping .

Events

Two men standing behind the bar, smiling at the camera.

Our Friday night bar is staffed by volunteers. Why not sign up for a shift?

We are always looking for people to help out at our Community Events,
particularly Bonfire Night.

Setting up and clearing away, running stalls, selling raffle tickets, baking, serving refreshments, marshalling, etc.

Or consider running your own event.

Management Committee

The Management Committee is responsible for the day-to-day running of GVH.

It meets in the evening of the first Monday of every month.
